My Entire Vibe Right Now Is Undone But Polished—5 Looks That Fit the Bill
Looking polished and put-together doesn't have to be hard. These relaxed, undone looks still feel elegant, even if they are simple.
This season, I'm trying to emulate effortless sophistication and refine my wardrobe to achieve that undone yet polished look, with the kind of outfits that are simple to put together but look endlessly elegant.
Don’t be mistaken: looking polished doesn’t have to mean looking formal. The whole idea is that these looks are rooted in core, basic pieces that the majority of us already own, but styling them in elevated, thoughtful ways. Think jeans with an oversized blazer or a baggy white T-shirt loosely tucked into tailored trousers. It’s the juxtaposition of structured pieces mixed with looser, softer styles that really creates that nonchalant feel. Accessories play a vital role too; from sunglasses to belts, every detail matters for the overall aesthetic to really give that nonchalant polished finish.
If this is also the vibe you're going for this spring, I’ve rounded up five of my favourite looks that fit the brief, and which I’m going to be using as my own inspiration.
5 Undone Yet Polished Looks to Copy
1. Blazer + Shirt + Straight-Leg Jeans
Style Notes: Aïda’s look is a go-to of mine when I don’t know what to wear but want to feel stylish and put-together. One of the things I love about it is that all the pieces are capsule-wardrobe essentials, so it’s so easy to re-create with items you likely already own. I love that she’s kept her accessories gold and tied in the hardware of her bag with her shoes, belt and jewellery for an overall cohesive finish.

COS jeans are some of my favourite on the high street.
2. Leather Jacket + Cami Top + Tailored Trousers
Style Notes: Whilst Caroline’s look may feel a bit more out there compared to the others, it’s a great example of how to really elevate a pair of tailored trousers so they’re less corporate and more cool. We’ve got four different colours at play here, but not in a way that feels overwhelming, and I love the softness of the lace mixed with the structure of the trousers and leather jacket.

3. Suede Jacket + Black Jeans + Trainers
Style Notes: Polished doesn't have to equate to heels—Débora shows us exactly how to make trainers feel elevated. Tying in the brown suede jacket with the tonal trainers gives that seamless finish, and opting for black jeans rather than washed blue or grey makes such a difference. It all comes down to those finer details in the finishes to achieve a sleek feel.

The fuller fit of these straight-leg jeans help to achieve a laid-back feel.
4. Oversized Blazer + Blue Barrel-Leg Jeans + Printed Heels
Style Notes: Blue jeans always tend to feel more casual than black, but Liv’s outfit demonstrates how to wear them in a more elevated way. A barrel-leg has a more structured fit, and pairing them with an oversized blazer and basic vest achieves that balance of casual yet polished. Finishing the look with a printed heel proves you don’t have to keep these kinds of looks neutral if you do like to inject print into your outfits.

My Citizens of Humanity barrel-leg jeans sparked my love for the shape.
5. Baggy T-Shirt + Tailored Trousers + Minimalist Accessories
Style Notes: There’s something about making a baggy t-shirt feel so elevated and stylish that really is impressive. Whilst Lison’s accessories aren’t glaringly obvious, they're well considered and minimalist enough to bring the whole look together without feeling too much. This would work equally as well with wide-leg tailored trousers as the tapered style she has on here.
