In the world of women's shoes, I long held an underlying frustration with the lack of clean-lined, classic styles on offer. Men's shoes always seemed to have this polished timelessness that I so craved from my shoe purchases. Why was it so hard to find a well-designed lace-up without all the bells and whistles? The brand is hardly a new addition to the shoe scene (it dates back to the 19th century), but I didn't fall in love with Church's achingly chic designs until I discovered them on the feeds of timeless trendsetters such as Lizzy Hadfield and Brittany Bathgate.
